n Presenter Biography
Prof. Hwang is an assistant professor in the
Incheon National University. He is an innovative engineer in biomedical
engineering inspired by nature. He got Ph.D under Prof. Hyung Joon Cha in the
POSTECH who has held managerial positions for multi-million dollar projects.
Prof. Cha has unique experience and technical knowledge about bioadhesive
research and is undergoing successful commercialization with established
venture company “Nature Gluetech”. Prof. Hwang joined the key project
related to medical applications of marine-inspired bioadhesive, especially, in
vivo evaluation as a research assistant professor after two-and-half-year
postdoctoral researcher in the UCSB under Prof. Samir Mitragotri.
He is originally trained as a biochemical
engineer and now expanded to emerging advanced biomedical technologies.
Publications include 29 peer-reviewed papers including Biomaterials, Journal of
Controlled Release, and 6 Korean patents, 2 USA patent applications. And, he
has 2 technology transfer to Venture Companies “DXbioscience” and “Nature Gluetech”. Specialties include biomedical
engineering, in vivo evaluation, skin
therapeutics, diagnostics, and biosensors. Today he will present instead of
Prof. Cha about bioadhesive’s successful biomedical applications.
